Stretching towards a quaint lagoon in Tilal Al Ghaf, this design for a beach club aims to solidify its presence as the main anchor for this new upscale neighborhood in Dubai. Sustainable at its core, the design strategy emphasizes adaptability and environmental sensitivity, integrating local materials and a series of pragmatic green solutions.


Adopting a shell-like structure reminiscent of barrel vaults, a varied roofscape covers the diverse program of the beach club, endowing each space with a unique character. Subtle iterations in the curvature and span of each ‘vault’ define this architectural cover as scenography, undulating in the way that best adapts to changes in scale depending on function. Articulation of the building skin, through strategic openings shielded by wooden louvers, optimizes the intake of light and air in each space, increasing micro-climatic value within a clear circulation network and balanced hierarchy of functions.
